Renew Tours International specializes in personalized, compassionate care and service for surgery patients in beautiful Costa Rica. Numbers are limited to maintain the highest quality of service and support to surgery patients. We specialize in the human side of care, personal sensitivity, and experienced knowledge to make a quality medical system easy and convenient. We work on the inside of the medical community with expedited access to the medical specialist. We provide seamless service from inquiries to post-operative recovery and return home.

Lorena Heydenburk
I was born in Panama of a Panamanian father, and an American mother (Minnesota German-Swiss). My formative years were spent in Panama, but I moved to the United States when I was eleven, and spent my high school years in Oklahoma, graduating from Oklahoma State. I spent 20 years as a military spouse, with domestic and international assignments, and then later earned a Master's degree in counseling at Texas Woman's University. I spent 13 years teaching and helping families and children through counseling and publishing. Now I'm delighted to be helping again, this time using language, culture, travel, and experience, guiding surgical and dental patients through their renewal experiences in Costa Rica. I am married, and we have three grown children with families.

We can act as your Renewal Companion & Guide throughout the entire process.
OR
We can act as your Travel Agent, planning every aspect of your Medical Vacation, but NOT accompany you as your Renewal Companion & Guide.
Our services can include just about everything except the surgical procedure itself.

- Liaison to coordination and scheduling of on-line consultations, health questionnaire and appointments (the doctor's office will do final booking of surgery date)
- Availability of travel-related services, including airline reservations, recovery accommodations, transportation
- Availability of personalized escort from DFW to San Jose
- Facilitation of personalized meeting at San Jose airport on arrival
- Facilitation of personalized escort to airport on return
- Full service assistance for hospital admissions
- Full service assistance for hospital lab work
- Facilitation of transportation to recovery center
- Facilitation of transportation to hospital for consult and surgical procedures
- Facilitation of tranportation to hospital for follow-up appointments
- Facilitation and presence during pre-op consult
- Provision of a single point of contact during surgical procedures
- Liaison to management of pre-op and recovery care process
- Facilitation and presence during post-op hospital physician visits
- Provision of interpreter services in hospital and during recovery
- Provision/scheduling of private duty nursing for night in hospital
- Provision of liaison presence before, during, and after surgical procedure
- Provision of immediate post-surgery family communication and updates
- Provision of overnight, in-hospital liaison presence during post-surgery night stay
- Provision of ongoing language facilitation with hospital staff
- Provision of contact with spiritual and emotional support services if needed (counselor, pastor, priest, rabbi, hospital chaplain)
