Q. Do I really need Renew's services?

A. Well...only if you would like:

  • someone with you who knows what's ahead because she's experienced surgery herself;

  • someone who knows the doctors and the hospital staff;

  • someone who not only understands the language and culture, but also the protocol;

  • someone who will stay with you before, during, and after your procedure;

  • someone will help prepare you for your renewal in another country with practical information;

  • someone who is available to answer your questions;

  • someone who understands the process of recovery.

Q. Can I combine surgery and touring Costa Rica? Seems a shame not to enjoy such a beautiful country...

A. Most of the time, the doctors don't mind if you go before surgery. Obviously, wearing yourself out sightseeing, or getting a bad sunburn isn't the way to go, but touring before your procedure is the way to go. After surgery, please talk to your surgeon; they have your best interests in mind, and want you to have optimum results.

Q. What about combining dental services, or dermatological, or orthopedic or gynecological...or any other surgical services while I'm there?

A. This is something that your primary surgeon will need to know in order to optimize both your results and your time in Costa Rica. Lots of combinations are doable; I can help if you let me know what you are thinking about doing. Many people do multiple procedures and are happy with both the results and the use of their time.

Q. What about before and after pictures--or explanations of my procedures?

A. Each physician has their own policies about pictures and their own way to explain their surgical procedures. But all of them are very interested and invested in your peace of mind and want you to be at ease and understand your surgery. I've found Costa Rican doctors to be very kind and very approachable, and will take the time to explain and answer questions.

Q. I've wanted this surgery for a long time, but I'm still scared...I know it's normal, but.....

A. I know. I really know....There's a tremendous comfort in having someone there for you. No matter what in what country your surgery takes place, surgery is not a small thing. And having someone to be willing to literally hold you hand, and extend their heart, and run interference....that is not a small thing either. Renew knows about comfort -- and Home.

Q. Can I afford you?

A. Depends on what you want for your surgical experience. A good surgical outcome and a good surgical experience may be two different things--and often are. Renew is here to increase the quality of your total surgical experience in Costa Rica--start to finish--and after. Even the most experienced traveler needs a guide or map; it makes good economic sense to invest in experienced knowledge. Renew offers both knowledge and heart -- both critical to your Costa Rican surgical experience.
